Ah, Rum And Monkey. I encountered it not too long ago through a link to this entry, which made me laugh at the sometimes-unadulterated stupidity of human race. The site is dedicated to "humor and satire", and frequently comments on politics, annoying people, religion, and other things in a manner that would probably be offensive to much of the public. Fortunately, the site's owners manage to be offensive in an amusing sort of way. Most of the time. (What else would you expect of a blog with an entry dedicated entirely to comments passed about an oversized pudding?)
The site is run and sporadically updated by three Australians who are either immature 25-year-olds who still snicker at "Your mom" jokes and have way too much time on their hands; or three Australians who are experimenting with some bizarre cocktail of drugs. Possibly both, but more likely the first. This is fortunate, since I myself am apparently an immature 16-year-old who still snickers at "your mom" jokes and has way too much time on her hands. (If I can bother to look at sites like this, that fact is a certainty.)
Rum and Monkey's main page consists of a blog (of sorts) where tidbits of humorous or satirical writing, funny pictures, political comments, and completely random bits of information are published. It also contains a link to "Tests + Widgets", where one can discover what kind of office moron, which collossal death robot, and which horrible disease one is, among other things. How could you possibly live without knowing whether you're rabies or syphilis, am I right?
A visitor to the site should expect to be amused, offended, and entertained. Sometimes all three in the same sentence. I would like to insert a word of caution, however-- Rum and Monkey does contain some extreme views and offensive commentary on sensitive issues, including religion. It also contains immaturity and swearing, for the more sensitive among us. I recommend the tests and quizzes, since they are usually the least likely to offend. I would also like to mention the fact that I don't necessarily agree with some of the humor and opinions expressed.
The site will probably leave you wondering how to react, and what drug some of the writers were on, but exploration of the site will doubtless prove fairly entertaining. To close, I leave you with this...The Colossal Death Robot Test.
How could you resist?
I'm not sure whether the fact that I found this entertaining is a testament to my immaturity or to something else entirely...

Reductio ab Absurdum
"Reduced to the absurd", which may or may not accurately express my future posts. I guess we'll find out.
